Submission Guidelines:

• A submission is one original work of creative non-fiction, written in English, that includes a walking itinerary with up to three historical sites that are relevant to the story and bring that story to life. For StoryApp iTinerary examples, see www.timetravelertours.com.

• Submissions may vary in length and numbers of sites of historical interest:
  • up to 5,000 words and 1-2 historical sites = ½ day iTinerary
  • up to 10,000 words and 2-3 historical sites = full day iTinerary

• In addition to the manuscript, submissions must include a cover page, detailing:
  • story title and word count
  • author’s name, address, phone, and email address
  • a short synopsis, including:
    • historical era of focus
    • name and description of narrator/tour guide
    • a one sentence résumé of the story
    • suggestions and/or examples of period art and/or artist(s) applicable to the story for possible future illustration (see www.timetravelertours.com for models).

• Manuscripts must be double-spaced and include page number and author’s last name in the header of each page.

• Manuscripts must include a bibliography of researched sources.

• Only previously unpublished stories are acceptable for submission.

• Simultaneous submissions are discouraged.

• Unlimited entries per person are allowed. However, each story must be submitted separately.

• In the interest of preserving the environment, submissions may be made online only. Manuscripts must be sent in .doc or .docx formats. Illustration examples may be sent as low-resolution jpegs.

Winning stories will be published by Time Traveler Tours, LLC in editorial collaboration with the author. By entering this contest, you acknowledge that you grant to Time Traveler Tours the exclusive right to use your materials for the development of digital applications as well as potential subsidiary products. You also acknowledge that you are the sole author of the work you submit and that no one else has any rights in or claims to the work. Time Traveler Tours promises you full attribution on any and all uses of your content. If your content should, at some point, be discontinued and fall out of circulation by Time Traveler Tours all rights will revert to the author.
